The Special Education (SEN) Pedagogy & Specialization Test is designed to assess teachers’ knowledge and competencies in inclusive education across all cycles. The test evaluates understanding of learners with diverse needs, instructional planning, assessment practices, and professional collaboration to ensure equitable learning opportunities for all students.
1. Foundations of Special & Inclusive Education (30%) – 24 Questions
Focuses on learners’ characteristics, categories of disabilities, inclusive education principles, educational laws, ethics, and policies. Teachers are assessed on their understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), equity, and safeguarding student rights.
2. Assessment & Evaluation (15%) – 12 Questions
Covers identification procedures, screening tools, formal and informal assessments, progress monitoring, and data-informed decision-making to support diverse learners.
3. Instructional Planning & Strategies (40%) – 32 Questions
The largest domain; includes differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accommodations and modifications, behavior management strategies, and evidence-based teaching approaches for students with special educational needs.
4. Professional Practice, Communication & Collaboration (15%) – 12 Questions
Assesses collaboration with parents, general education teachers, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams, along with ethical communication and professional responsibilities.
